Currently, The Next Purpose is focused on building Tele-Medicine based clinics in the North Eastern village of Sindhupalchok. The clinics will provide much needed access to doctors and medications year round. We hope to beat the barriers of weather and inaccessibility with this tele-health model. Patients in this village and surrounding communities will be able to remotely visit doctors from around the world. Technological gadgets will help physicians assess, diagnose and treat patients that suffer from common acute illnesses.
In December 2015 a group of volunteers traveled to Nepal to conduct community needs assessments in the tent village of Kathmandu. The population was made up of about 600 villagers who were taking refuge from the destruction of the earthquakes. Basic Vital Signs, vision checks and questions based on social and mental health were asked. Information was inputted into a database and statistics were pulled to help TNP learn more about the population which we will serve. More information to come soon!
